Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the city.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
